Made in the USA a label you rarely see when you go shopping with your girlfriends.
Between 2001 and 2013, 3.2 millions jobs were outsourced to Asian countries like China and India. The majority of these jobs were within the manufacturing sector. The state that has suffered the loss of most jobs due to outsourcing is The Golden State, California. California was the main apparel production state and has been the biggest loser with more than 564,000 jobs lost between 2001 and 2013.
Like for most trends the is a counter trend to outsourcing - reshoring. Bringing production back to the US has become increasingly popular.
Most recent example is out athleisure sweetheart, Under Amour who has just released the Arris project, which is a capsule collection (their first ever) which is Made in the USA. The collection is created and manufactured at the Under Armour Lighthouse. Translation; The company's new Baltimore design and manufacturing facility.
Not only is the collection bringing bringing more jobs to the american people, but it is also focusing on the female body and the result is the Arris Bra and Arris leggings to give precision fit and support for the wearer.
The newly instated president ( who's name I will not mention) announced his "Manufacturing Jobs Initiative" in where he hopes to change the future of trade and create more jobs in the US.
Let's see what company is the next to follow in Under Armour's athletic footsteps and reshore production back to the US.
