As a part of their Corporate Responsibility programme "Fashion with Integrity" Asos have announced that they are going to publish the supplier list for their Asos label manufacturers.
Traditionally this information is something companies keep within the company because of competition, but it recent years there has been a shift in the information companies are expected to disclose. Consumers starting demanding more transparency from fashion companies after several scandals with apparel manufacturing conditions, we all remember that tragic collapse of the garment factory in Bangladesh in 2013 that killed over 1000 people.
With their "Fashion with Integrity" programme, Asos are setting a good example for the entire fashion Industry. They are striving to make all aspects of their company transparent to the consumers in order for them to be confident that they are buying their products from a company that is working towards minimizing the negative effects on people, animals and the environment.
Asos own label products are manufactured in approximately 498 different factories around the world and 88% of those are located in China, India, Romania, Turkey and the UK.

The first step towards complete transparency is to disclose their own brand label suppliers. Before 2020 they are planning to have mapped out their raw materials like textile fibers and natural synthetic materials.
In their "Modern Slavery Statement" manifest on their value chain activities, Asos state they are to disclose primary and sub suppliers in the fiscal year 2017-2018.
Not only are they letting us all know where they manufacture and source all their amazing products, they are also planning on creating an entire department devoted to support their third-party companies in ethics and sustainability.
I hope more companies are following Asos's example and increase the transparency of their practices.
