What the F! Oscar night means dresses

As I am sure everyone is aware of, yesterday was the annual Academy Award show and that means people dressing up to the best of their (stylist's) abilities.

Let us start with the not so great choices first.

Sparkles and metallic dresses are always popular on the red carpet and yesterday was no different.

Let me start with the best of the worst, Jessica Biel who chose a golden dress that was combined with a too heavy eye make up, making her resemblance the golden statue itself.

Next up is Michelle Williams who took the safe route but with a neckline that was a bit too plunging.

This look put Dakota Johnson on Vogue's best dresses list but I have to concur. The Gucci dress has potential but is just too much and the bow pushed it over the edge.

The silhouette of the silver dress worn by Teresa Palmer is not very flattering and combined with a belt placed to add to the silhouette resultet in the opposite effect.

Halle Berry's look did not impress me either and while Leslie Mann get a win for being the best presenter of the night, she also win for worst dressed in my book with a gown that look's to have sprung out of a Disney fairytale.

On the other end of the spectrum is Ruth Negga tops my best dressed list with this custom Valentino gown. The long sleeves, lace and mock neck underlines her elegant but sexy look.

Brie Larson looks like the Oscar winner she is in this velvet Oscar de la Renta creation. Olivia Culpo in Marchesa and Nicole Kidman in Armani Prive both looked stunning.

I can not cover the best of the red carpet fashion without mentioning Mahershala Ali who looked beyond handsome in Ermenegildo Zegna Couture, accessorized just right with a bow tie, pocket square and jewelry.

The award for best actress in leading role went to Emma Stone and she also wins for best dressed. This fringe dream of a dress by Givenchy combined with a classic red lip makes for a regal and elegant look. She accessorized her look with a Planned Parenthood pin, making me love her even more.
